It’s been a year since we’ve begun this blog. Wahoo!
It’s time to bring back the love to the next batch of SEO experts, bloggers, and internet marketers! This year’s theme is more social-oriented. I guess this idea came from our professor who thinks that the Internet is more than an all-in-one medium that integrates the television, radio, the telephone, the mobile phone, and print. I remember a lecture about the elections and how we can harness the power of the internet to change the world (see: microfinancing in India and southern Philippines). This year he’s changed the rules from free-for-all to something that would affect change.
And the candidates for this year’s Internet Marketing class ’08 are:
Your World Vision.
The blog name speaks for this group’s goal. They want to hear from YOU, their future readers, your vision for the world and they take the extra mile to make the vision come true through donations. They have different topics each day which I find interesting (I personally like Feature Friday the best).
ProjectISKO.
Project ISKO is more specialized I think because it champions the cause of UA&P’s organization of scholars (called ISKO). I’m thinking they should tie up with embassies (the Japanese embassy in particular). It’s the time of the year for the solicitation of grants and this blog might just win the ISKO-lars scholarships/internships to my dream destination, Japan. Scholars taking up Japanese and APS Japan, unite!
OutofPlace
This group talks about the out-of-school youth in the Philippines. Read through their blog and you’ll uncover their greatest discovery: Dualtech–doing while training. I don’t know how they’ve handled the project but I hope they can bring this down to the LGUs and be the connection between DSWD (watchdogs of out-of-school youth) and Dualtech. Now THAT would be something life-changing. These guys have the connections to do it (I bet)!
IamS.T.R.O.N.G.
I support their cause! I’ve been to one of IamS.T.R.O.N.G.’s talks in college and it’s inspiring. The program encourages you to think and learn to make decisions that coincide with the universal moral code.
The program was originally initiated by Dean Torralba and it has bloomed. My friend Sam used to tour with Dr. T to the different schools around the Philippines to talk about ‘loving for a reason’ (very Boyzone, very nineties). Last year they had an international symposium on marriage and family at a swanky Makati hotel.
The Knowledge Channel.
“I believe that the children are our future”. That’s all that I can say and this is what the Knowledge Channel is about. They are addressing and supporting the problems of public schools in terms of quality of education. I wonder how the group works offline though. I like the idea that they’ve arranged an ARCHIVE-full of shows…alphabetically! They have episode guides and everything. I hope they can host the episodes online! Or get the rights to broadcast the shows. Then in the future they can sell/donate the blog to ABS-CBN/PTV 4. Exciting!
I Keep Love Real.
The blog topic is eerily similar with the Dove Campaign for Real Beauty. Only their idea is about changing how WE perceive love (4 loves, anyone? I loved that book). They could maybe merge with IamS.T.R.O.N.G. in the future since their objectives are aligned. For the readers who’d like to put some deep thought on loving…this blog is a must-read for you.

Have you ever listened/read the Secret? I think this blog will compliment what Rhonda Birnes is promoting. Positivity yields attraction of the good. The good will always, more than anything, make us happy. This blog is uplifting and once you’ve become part of their community, it seems that you’ll never be alone again.
